Allison Conway

ACA gave me an opportunity to get to know Allison Conway, a Brooklyn based illustrator and comix maker. Her newest book, "The Lab" was recently published by Top Shelf Productions and was nominated for an Ignatz award.

"The Lab" follows a test subject through a labyrinth of arbitrary experimentation and beyond into the outside world after he is discarded.

Allison is exceptional at silent storytelling- driving events forward through wordless pictorial sequences. She uses color inventively to create sprawling, detailed environments.
